Noise for the Needy Announces Lineup, Festival Planned for June 10-13

NOISE FOR THE NEEDY 2010 ANNOUNCES THIS YEAR’S LINEUP!

Noise For The Needy has announced the lineup for this year’s festival, which promises to be a great one! Headliners include The Album Leaf, Delta Spirit, Visqueen, John Vanderslice, Thunderheist, Portland Cello Project, Horse Feathers, Tiny Vipers, The Maldives, Kinski, Whalebones and Virgin Islands. Over 70 bands are confirmed for this year’s NFTN fest (with more confirmations coming soon).

This year’s NFTN beneficiary, Teen Feed, serves over 11,000 meals each year to over 600 homeless youth in the Seattle area. The organization, founded in 1989, averages 40-50 guests each evening, and serves meals six nights weekly. This year, Teen Feed (www.teenfeed.org) is adding a seventh night. This amazing organization is the only provider of meals specifically to youth and young adults in the University District that is open regularly Sunday through Friday.

Check out the full lineup (bands/venues/dates) and buy tickets on NFTN's calendar page: http://www.noisefortheneedy.org/2010/news/tickets.php.

Noise for the Needy is a Seattle-based nonprofit organization that raises money for charitable causes through the production of live music shows (http://www.noisefortheneedy.org/)

STAMP OUT HUNGER

A special delivery of food will be headed out to hungry people and we need your help! May 8th is the 18th Annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive with the National Association of Letter Carriers. Be on the lookout for that familiar, blue plastic bag to arrive in your mailbox one week before the food drive, and on May 8th be sure to fill it with non-perishable food and place it by your mailbox before 8 a.m.
Your letter carriers will pick up the bags and deliver them back to their postal station where hundreds of volunteers will help get them loaded into trucks to go back to Food Lifeline. From there, it will be sorted and distributed to local food banks in your community. Last year, the Letter Carriers from Branch 79 helped us collect nearly 895,000 pounds of food. Let’s break this record and reach 1 million pounds!
