Job Announcement: Director of Queen Anne Food Bank


Queen Anne Food Bank is seeking a dynamic and energetic leader to take on the role of Director and implement our strategic plan. The Queen Anne Food Bank runs a meal program Monday through Friday, and a weekly food bank. Our vision is for a community where all of our neighbors have access to enough healthy and nutritious foods.  

QAFB is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization governed by an all volunteer board of directors. There are currently 6 board members and 2.5 employees. The Director and Operation’s Coordinator positions are 30-40 hours per week, and the Operations Assistant position is 8-10 hours per week. 

Skills/Competencies Needed: 

An excellent communicator and proven leader, the candidate will have a passion for our mission and human services work. The chosen candidate will have great people skills, and be comfortable communicating with diverse populations. The Director must be prepared to handle a variety of situations with care and flexibility. A strategic thinker, the Director provides guidance to staff, encourages volunteers, and builds strong relationships with community partners and donors. Specific skills include:
Experience in planning, overseeing staff, managing finances, and working with boards;
Successful fundraising record, including implementing and pursuing diverse fundraising strategies;
Excellent relationship-building and problem-solving skills, demonstrated ability to manage and motivate staff and volunteers;
- Ability to effectively relate to persons of diverse ages, backgrounds, skills and abilities;
Creative and resourceful with an ability to work within a setting that is constantly in a state of change;
Willingness to help in all areas as needed;
Strong writing and public presentation skills, excellent at identifying and pursuing new partnerships;
A bachelor’s degree or comparable experience.
