Food Lifeline Advocacy Update: Tough Decisions Still Remain
Tough Decisions Still Remain
After reaching the deadline for the official end of legislative session last week, a special session for the state legislature was called by Governor Gregoire and began Tuesday, April 26th. The legislature now has until May 23rd, an extra 30 days by law, to pass bills necessary to impliment the budget and then to pass the budget for FY2011-2013.
Our legislative leaders are in Olympia still working hard to make the best decisions for our state. Thanks to your advocacy our leaders are making educated decisions in these final steps to pass the budget.
There is still time to send a message or call your legislators to let them know that hunger-relief cannot be compromised. A healthier community equals a healthier economy. Call the toll free legislative hotline at 1.800.562.6000 to leave a message for you legislators or find your legislators' contact information by clicking HERE.
Until the final budget release you can count on updates from Delivery Time to keep you informed on how the state budget will impact hunger-relief programs in your area.
