Advocacy Action: Breakfast After the Bell Hearing Today!

A Message from the Children's Alliance:
Breakfast After the Bell hearing TODAY.  Send a message now - and share this alert!
We know schools do their jobs better when more kids eat breakfast at school: attendance goes up, discipline problems go down, and students achieve more when they start their day right.  Washington has been missing out on a simple and effective way to get the school day off to a great start: make breakfast part of the school day.

We're thrilled that the school breakfast bills (SB 3457  HB 1295) are moving forward. At Monday's Senate Ways and Means committee hearing, a whopping 48 organizations signed in to support Breakfast After the Bell (one senator said that could be a record!). Today (Tuesday), the House Appropriations committee will also have a hearing - let's break their record, too!

Make a big noise for Breakfast After the Bell - click here and send a message directly to all three of your lawmakers.  Let them know this legislation invests in students and makes smart choices for their education.

Now - share this note and the link with your colleagues - ask them to take action today!

Thanks to our partners at United Way of King County and Washington Appleseed for testifying about how the bills work for kids by focusing on schools where students are most likely to be going hungry and falling behind.
