Advocacy Alert on State Food Assistance Program

Contact your state legislative representatives TODAY and advocate for them to save the State Food Assistance Program. It is in danger of complete elimination.

This is the message to deliver to your representatives:

I am asking you to protect the State Food Assistance Program.

I appreciate that the  both the House budget as well as first Senate proposed budget maintains the program. I am very disappointed that the budget which passed the Senate proposes to eliminate it.  

Hunger is on the rise. Nearly one in four Washington families count on food stamps to meet their nutritional needs.

Hungry kids can't learn, and State Food Assistance is putting food on the table for struggling families.

Please insure that the final Supplement Budget includes continued funding for State Food Assistance and includes language allowing DSHS flexibility to increase benefits in order to provide the opportunity for equity in food benefits.
