AHNC Advocacy Alert: TAKE ACTION by Thurs., Feb. 7!

AHNC Logo
Update & Action Alert
AHNCNo child should go to school hungry. No elder should have to cut back on food to pay rent. But since the 50% cut to State Food Assistance (SFA) went into effect last summer, more immigrant families are struggling against hunger.  We are again calling on legislators to restore equal benefits for State Food Assistance. To give strength to the campaign, Children's Alliance is launching a "Communities in Support of State Food Assistance" letter to our legislators.

The goal is to gather signatures from organizations and community leaders in every corner of Washington, representing our diverse communities. The intention is not that this letter come from Children's Alliance, with many organizations signing on, but rather that it come from all of the organizations together, as a unified voice.

We are hoping you and your organization will join in this effort and add your support to this letter.

Please reply to Children's Alliance if your organization would like to be listed as a signer of this letter. Send your organization's name, a contact person's name, phone number and email address - by Thursday, February 7th - to:

Siobhan Ring (Mobilization Director, Children's Alliance)

If you are interested in supporting the effort, but aren't able to make an organizational decision by that date, please let Children's Alliance know and they'll look for other ways to connect with you.
